Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Master of Science Degree in International Trade and Development of University of Port Harcourt in collaboration with African Business Round Table for 2014/2015 Session.
1. Major Objectives of the Programme
The UNIPORT master’s programme in International Trade and Development provides graduates with the knowledge and tools necessary in formulating and implementing international trade and development policies. These skills are vital in many establishments including Trade and Investment Industries, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United Nations, World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international development agencies. Career opportunities include: Trade Policy Makers, Trade Negotiators, Trade Statisticians/Analysts, Trade Lawyers, Foreign Exchange Managers and Import-Export Finance Managers. The programme also provides a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing advanced studies in the area.
2. Admission Requirements
The programme is open to applicants who possess a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Finance, Foreign Languages, Accounting, History, Marketing, Management, Geography or related field or have earned a law degree from recognized institutions. Other applicants in the trade related industry with at least five years working experience with degrees outside the ones named above will also be considered for admission into the programme
3. Duration of Programme
This is a 12 month programme. The participants will pursue a programme rich in practical, technical and theoretical content. The programme has flexible schedules and modules for working students. This helps to minimize the impact on students’ work schedules. Best of all, students receive personal attention from outstanding, professionally and active faculty in a small class environment.
4. Method of Application

Payment can be made at Fidelity Bank Plc into Account No. 4110029257 or U&C Microfinance Bank Ltd, Account No. 1004970025. Proceed with the print out from the bank and obtain Application form online or from the Office of the Director, Bamanga Tukur Institute for International Trade and Development, University of Port Harcourt, East West Road, Port Harcourt, on payment of a non-refundable fee of twenty five thousand five hundred naira (N25,500) only which includes bank charges.
5. Deadline for Submission of Completed Application Forms
Completed Application forms, academic transcripts, two reference letters and other relevant documents must be returned to the Director, Bamanga Tukur Institute, University of Port Harcourt not later than 7 November, 2014.
