University of Maiduguri Is Safe, No Plans to Close Down Due to Boko Haram:
University of Maiduguri has dismissed rumours that the institution was unsafe and planned to close down due to fear of Boko Haram.
Spokesman for the institution, Ahmed Mohammed in a statement, said the University was quite safe even as members of the community were going about their businesses on a daily basis without any immediate threat from the insurgents.
“The University was never closed and never had any serious security issue for it to be closed down, You can see we are all around and doing what we are here for,” he said.
