The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali recently during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), to establish a sugarcane bio-factory in the University revealed that the institution will in the 2014/2015 academic session admit 9000 students.
According to the VC this is a reflection of the massive infrastructural development and the commitment of the institution towards providing a conducive environment for learning.
He also mentioned that over 100,000 candidates applied to study in the institution and that the institution will hold a screening examination that will help reduce this number to the carrying capacity of the institution.
