Mallam Abidu Yazid, the pro-chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and the chairman of the institution’s governing council, made the announcement on Thursday evening that Wahab Olasupo Egbewole (SAN), a professor of law and jurisprudence, will serve as the institution’s next vice-chancellor.
Egbewole, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), will succeed Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, whose term as Vice-Chancellor ends on October 15, 2022.
The head of the Unilorin council told journalists in Ilorin that the new vice chancellor has been with the university for the past 25 years.
“According to the laws of this university, the University of Ilorin CAP U7 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, the current vice-chancellor’s tenure is set to expire on the 15th of October 2022, and the council of the university began the process of appointing a new vice chancellor as early as March 2022.”
