Personal Security measures as listed below aim to delay, warn or deter possible crime. These are additional measures meant to protect you from any form of harm.
Please, adhere strictly to the following security advice:
- Wearing Students Identification Card (I.D. Card) always is important for easy identification.
- Take time to know an Association before you join it. If in doubt, check with Student Affairs Unit.
- Report every subject of security threats to the Security Division through the following security numbers provided below:

- Do not leave credit alerts on your phone. It could make you a target of kidnapping or it could be an easy way for fraudsters to empty your account.
- Do not allow anyone to use your account or email for a third party transaction.
- Do not use ATMs at remote places at night, as you could be exposed to attack, robbery or kidnapping.
- Lock your door whenever you are leaving your room (even for a short time). Always lock your door when resting or sleeping.
- Do not leave your wallet, purse, credit card, cash, or other valuables in the open.
- Never loan your student ID Cards to anyone. If you misplaced it, report to the Division of Student Affairs and the Security Division immediately.
- Tell someone where you are going and when you can be expected or return.
- Always walk or jog in a familiar area and use well-lit path. Avoid dark areas.
- Know your surroundings. If you suspect you are being followed, run in a different direction; go to the other side of the road or run to an area with illumination.
- Never leave your laptop computer, textbooks, cell-phone, backpack, purse, or other valuables unattended or out of your sight in common areas.
- Avoid night travels or journey and board vehicles only in approved parks.
- Choose your company or associates wisely to reduce your threat profile, as you might be exposed to threats through bad company.
- Do not walk alone, especially at night or before the day fully breaks, move in groups because there is a security in number.
