UNILAG wins CFA national challenge for the third time

The University of Lagos, again, has won the CFA National Equity Research Challenge for 2021. Consequently, Team UNILAG will represent Nigeria at the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) Regional Final next month.

25 universities participated in the keenly contested challenge from which the University of Lagos came tops. University of Ibadan (UI) and University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) emerged First and Second Runners Up respectively.

With this triumph, the third in four years (2018, 2019, 2021) UNILAG confirms its supremacy in Finance and Investment research among Nigerian universities.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Participating students are tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, research and presentation skills.

Under the tutelage of the Faculty Adviser, Dr P.N Amah, members of the team are Adedamola Sodamola ( Department of Finance, 300 Level), Chidinma Jacob ( Department of Economics, 400 Level), Ilerioluwa Adeoye ( Department of Economics, 300 Level), Livinus Obi ( Department of Finance, 200 Level) and Mary Akindutire ( Department of Finance, 300 Level)
