UNILAG Temporarily Shut Down Following Students Protest

The report just reaching us says that the University of Lagos has been temporarily shut down following students’ unrest.

It was gathered that the students of the institution this morning interrupted vehicular movements in and outside the campus in their protest against the late course registration fee imposed by the management.

According to the students, the management has imposed N25, 000 on them for late registration of courses which to the students is unacceptable.

The protesting students claimed the management shut the school portal against registration and began demanding for N10,000, which again increased to N15,000 and N20,000 progressively in the last few days.

according to one of the protest leaders poor technical capability of students’ portal and the attitude of the personnel at the institution’s IT center caused delay in students registration for a new semester.
