UNILAG Postpones Examination Following

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has postponed its forthcoming semester examinations following the protest on Monday by students over bed bug infestation in their hostels.

The examination which was suppose to be held October 12th to 19th has been giving a one-week postponement.

According to the Deputy Registrar (Information) Mr Olagoke Oke, the institution is working on changing the bed bug infested mattresses and furniture and fumigate the hostels.

He mentioned that plans are already at an advanced stage to provide new mattresses.

However he stated, that the fumigation of the hostels will not be feasible now since students are still on campus and said that will happen after the students have gone on break.

The Students Union Government appreciated the steps taking by the management but advised that fumigation should be done at least once a week for a period of one month in order to ensure that the bugs are totally gone.
