UniJos graduates 7,946 students, honours Afe Babalola, others

The University of Jos will on Saturday, April 6, present certificates to 7,946 students during its convocation, it was gathered.

The university will also be conferring honorary degrees on three prominent Nigerians, Aare Afe Babalola, Alhaji Ahmed Joda and Da Bitrus Pam Kim.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Hayward Babale Mafuyai, who disclosed this at a pre-convocation press briefing yesterday said, “May I at this juncture inform you that for the second consecutive year, we have maintained the tradition of having our graduands’ certificates signed and available for immediate collection”.

He added that the Senate of the University of Jos approved the conferment of Doctor of Laws Degree (Honoris Causa) on Afe Babalola in recognition of his achievements in the legal profession and the establishment of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, and that Ahmed Joda and Bitrus Kim are to be honoured with Doctor of Letters and Doctor of Humanities (Honoris Causa) respectively for being ‘icons of national service’.
