The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of the full-time mode of some undergraduate programmes at the University of Delta State Agbor which will run in the University.
In a Release signed by Abubakar M. Girei on behalf of the Acting Executive Secretary of NUC, Chris J. Maiyaki, the programmes were approved after a successful Resource Verification Visit carried out by a panel of experts.
The programmes which will commence from 2023/2024 Academic Session include:
*MBBS: Medicine and Surgery
*B.NSc: Nursing Science
*B.Sc: Public Health
*B.MLS: Medical Laboratory Science
* B.Sc: Geography and Environmental Mgt.
* B.Sc: Peace and Conflict Studies
*B.Sc: Agriculture
*B.Sc: Animal Science
* B.Sc: Crop Science
* B.Sc: Home Science and Management
*Physical and Health Education now split into:
*B.Sc (Ed): Human Kinetics and Sports Science, and
*B.Sc: Health Education
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke who broke the news at the Senate meeting yesterday, said she was highly elated at this development. She enjoined all staff to remain focused, diligent, and productive, as the growth of the institution remains a collective effort.
According to an eyewitness account, the Senate burst into frenzied exhilaration when the Vice Chancellor broke the news.
