A final year student in the Department of Microbiology in the University of Calabar has been arrested in connection with the murder of a lecturer of the institution some weeks back.
The suspect was arrested after the phone number used to send threat messages to the lecture was traced to him.
The suspect has confessed to the crime saying his reason for killing the lecture was as a result of the lecture refusing to clear his backlog of carryovers for the courses he failed to enable him proceed for National Youth Service Corps alongside other members of his class.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Hogan Bassey, investigation is still ongoing on the matter.
