UNICAL reiterates ban on wild celebrations after exams

The Management of the University of Calabar has reiterated its position on the ban of wild celebrations occasioning reckless driving and flying of colours in and around the university campus.

A memo signed by the University Registrar, Mr Gabriel O. Egbe states that it has become expedient to remind students, especially those in the final year that the ban on wild celebrations within the campus and around the school gates including all cult-related activities still subsists.

The Memo reads in parts;

"Management wishes to reiterate its stands on these unlawful activities by students of the University after their final year examinations under the guise of celebration at the end of their examination".

Members of the University Community, especially final-year students, are therefore urged to abide strictly by the directive as Management would not hesitate to sanction anyone found culpable in this regard.

This is even as the Ag. The Chief Security Officer has been directed to ensure full compliance with Management's directive.
