UNIBEN Lecturer Arrested for Forgery and Impersonation

A Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria was recently arrested by men of the Edo State Police Command over alleged forgery and impersonation.

According to report, the lecturer had some time ago forged the letter headed paper of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and signature of the chairman of ASUU, UNIBEN chapter.

It was learnt that he used the forged letter headed paper to write a petition to the Minister of Education, reporting that the current Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Oshodin was no longer fit to pilot the dealings of the university due to some health issues he is currently battling with.

He further stated in the petition that there was need to appoint an Acting Vice Chancellor for proper management of affairs in the school.
