The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the academic calendar for the 2022/2023 academic session. This schedule provides detailed information for both new and returning students.
First Semester Academic Calendar for New Students 2022/2023
- Sunday 2nd July, 2023: Students are admitted into halls of residence.
- Monday 10th July, 2023: Lectures begin (14 weeks).
- Monday 16th to Friday 20th October, 2023: Revision.
- Monday 23rd October, 2023: First Examinations begin in all Faculties/Schools/Institutes.
- Saturday 28th October, 2023: GST examinations.
- Saturday 18th November, 2023: Examinations end.
- Sunday 19th November, 2023: Students go on break.
First Semester Academic Calendar for Returning Students 2022/2023
- Sunday 24th September, 2023: Students come into halls of residence.
- Monday 25th September, 2023: Lectures begin (10 weeks).
- Monday 27th to Friday 1st December, 2023: Revision.
- Monday 4th December, 2023: First semester examinations begin in Faculties of Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Physical Sciences.
- Saturday 9th December, 2023: CED examinations.
- Monday 11th December, 2023: Examinations begin in other Faculties/Schools/Institutes.
- Thursday 21st to Friday 22nd December, 2023: GST examinations. Students go on end of semester break.
Second Semester Academic Calendar for All Students 2022/2023
- Sunday 7th January, 2024: All students come into halls of residence.
- Monday 8th January, 2024: Lectures begin.
- Monday 11th to Friday 15th March, 2024: Revision.
- Monday 18th March, 2024: Examinations begin in Faculties of Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Physical Sciences.
- Saturday 23rd March, 2024: CED examinations.
- Monday 25th March, 2024: Examinations begin in other Faculties/Schools/Institutes.
- Friday 5th to Saturday 6th April, 2024: GST examinations. Students go on end of session break.
Second Semester Academic Calendar 2021/2022 Session
- Saturday 10th June, 2023: Students return to halls of residence.
- Tuesday 13th June, 2023: Second semester lectures begin.
- Monday 14th to Friday 18th August, 2023: Revision.
- Monday 21st August, 2023: Second semester examinations begin in Faculties of Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Physical Sciences.
- Saturday 26th August, 2023: CED Examinations.
- Monday 28th August, 2023: Second semester examinations begin in other Faculties/Schools/Institutes.
- Saturday 9th September, 2023: GST examinations and end of second semester examinations.
- Sunday 10th September, 2023: Students go on break. End of 2021/2022 session.
