UNDP/Federal Government Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme 2023

UNDP/Federal Government Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme 2023

The Nigerian Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) is a youth empowerment partnership scheme between the federal government of Nigeria and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It seeks to bridge the gap between talented Nigerian graduates and organizations’ human resource demands on the job market by connecting the former with job opportunities that are related to their skills. At the same time, beneficiaries are equipped with hands-on knowledge and skills that would project them at international levels. Once again, the target is to place 20,000 highly skilled Nigerian youths in the private and public sectors, across the country.

In Nigeria, a country still recovering from an economic recession and the multi-sector impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s even harder to match accessible talent with entry-level roles. While other schemes and programs may require some level of experience, NJFP seems to lower the bar in terms of the conditions for the program. The NJFP is a youth empowerment partnership initiative championed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to mitigate the development impact of rising national unemployment and underemployment rates. The Fellowship is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and other partners.
