UMYU bans signing-out celebration on T-shirts

The authority of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, (UMYU) has banned the signing out on T-shirts by graduating students with immediate effect.

According to a circular from the office of the Dean of Students’ Affairs dated June 24, 2021, and signed by the Dean, Mustapha Bala Rumah, students were warned to refrain from the practice of writing on their T-shirts or risk being sanctioned.

The circular reads in part:

“The Management of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University has observed with dismay, the way graduating students are celebrating their exit after their final examinations especially the signing out on the graduation T-shirts.

"Consequent upon that, the University Management has banned the signing out on the T-shirts from the graduation celebration. Please be informed that appropriate sanction will be taken against defaulters of the above."
