UDUSOK Matriculation Ceremony 2022/2023

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUSOK), is thrilled to announce its upcoming matriculation ceremony for the 2022/2023 academic session. The event is an opportunity to officially welcome the university’s new students into the academic community. This blog post will provide details about the event, including the date, venue, and time. It also includes important instructions regarding the rehearsal and academic gown collection.

Save the Date

The matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted Undergraduate Level 1, Undergraduate Level 2 and Postgraduate students who are not graduates of UDUSOK is scheduled to take place as follows:

  • Date: Wednesday, 19th July, 2023
  • Venue: Convocation Square, UDUSOK
  • Time: 9:00 am prompt

Given the importance of the event, students are encouraged to mark their calendars and make adequate preparations to ensure their punctual arrival.

Rehearsal Schedule

In addition to the main event, there will also be a rehearsal for the ceremony. The details of the rehearsal are as follows:

  • Date: Tuesday, 18th July, 2023
  • Time: 4:00 pm

This rehearsal will take place at the same venue, the Convocation Square, to ensure that students are well-acquainted with the proceedings of the actual ceremony.

A Lecture-Free Window for New Students

In a bid to ensure maximum attendance at both the rehearsal and matriculation ceremony, the University Authority has declared the afternoon of Tuesday 18th and the morning of Wednesday 19th July, 2023, as lecture-free periods for 100 and 200 level students. This thoughtful gesture provides the students with a window of free time to fully participate in these important events.

Importance of the Matriculation Ceremony and Rehearsal

The university places great importance on the matriculation ceremony and the accompanying rehearsal. Both are considered compulsory for all fresh undergraduate and postgraduate students. Students who fail to complete the Oath Form and sign the Matriculation Register within the stipulated time frames risk severe consequences, including possible expulsion from the university. It’s important to note that only those who have been matriculated will be considered bonafide students of the university.

Note to Matriculating Students

To prepare for the ceremony, matriculating students are advised to collect their academic gowns from their respective faculty officers.

The matriculation ceremony is a major milestone in a student’s academic journey. It represents the formal induction of new students into the university community and is an occasion to be treasured. As such, students are encouraged to fully participate in the rehearsal and the ceremony, complying with all guidelines to ensure a smooth and memorable event.
