Two Students Killed by Gunmen at Fed. University, Lafia

Two students of Federal University, Lafia, were killed by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers yesterday, 14th February, 2018.

Mr. Idirisu, a deputy superintendent of police confirmed the killing of the students, it was reported that the event that led to the killings happened at the students’ village at Mararaba-Akunza, opposite the university gate, as at the time the police got there, the gunmen were already on the run.

The suspected gunmen hit the place of the incident and started shooting, during the stampede, 2 students were hit buy stray bullets. It was reported that one died on the spot, while the other died at the hospital. 

Report says, that one of the victims was a first class graduate from economic department and was still processing his final year clearance, while the other victim was a 400l student of English department.

He said the management of the institution has declared a day of mourning in honour of the students that were killed. Meanwhile, investigation has already started according to DSP Kennedy Idirisu Nasarawa State police spokesman.

The students are pleading with the school management to boost their security level, they feel they are no longer safe.
