A viral report circulating on social media, especially on X, has alleged that a 100-level male student at Adeleke University was sexually assaulted by three 500-level male students, leading to his death. This distressing claim has generated widespread outrage, with calls for justice for the alleged victim.
Accounts detail that the freshman, who had reportedly only been enrolled at the university for three weeks, suffered severe injuries and was allegedly denied medical care by nearby hospitals before succumbing to his injuries.
In response, Adeleke University’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Solomon Adebola, issued an official statement dismissing the claims as "fake news, malicious, and misleading." He clarified that the report originated from an unofficial platform, AU TV, which is neither recognized nor approved by the university.
Professor Adebola emphasized that Adeleke University is committed to student safety and strongly condemned the spread of false information. "This misleading information seeks to tarnish the good name of Adeleke University," he said, reiterating the institution’s dedication to a safe environment for all students and urging the public to disregard the report entirely.
