TASUED student emerges as NANS president, pledges prompt bursary payment

Comrade Damilola Simeon, a student of Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu in Ogun, has emerged as the Ogun state president of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), on Saturday, 30 January 2021.

The newly-elected president fondly called Daosmos, emerged the winner of the NANS presidential race after securing 9 votes from the total votes of 10 accredited senators from the 10 higher institutions present at the election ground, held at the Alake Sports Centre, Ijeja in Abeokuta.

The election was conducted with the presence of heavy security, and Damilola was elected unopposed following the withdrawal of six candidates from the race.

During his acceptance speech, the president appreciated students of the state for their full support, believing in him, and promised not to fail them. He pledged to work with the state government to ensure the speedy payment of bursary to indigent students.
