Suspected cultists kill FUAM final year student and anti-cultism campaigner

Gun-wielding men suspected to be members of a cult group have killed a final year student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue state, identified as Igyagher Isaac. The Agricultural and Environmental Engineering student was reportedly killed on Friday night, July 31, in a lodge around Gabiz Hotel, opposite Benue Judges Lodge, Makurdi.

Though details of his death are still sketchy, a source, however, revealed that Isaac was shot dead and his corpse put on a pile of his clothes and burnt by suspected members of Aye and Vikings confraternity.

Isaac's close friends and colleagues debunked claims that he was a cultist, adding that he was at the wrong place and wrong time. It was further learned that the deceased had organized an anti-cultism campaign in 2020, as confirmed by one Japhet Terseer.

Friends have since taken to Facebook to mourn his passing.
