Students should spend their time resourcefully — Expert

The Pro-Chancellor, Crawford University, Professor Peter Okebukola has urged students who want to succeed academically to reduce the hours spent on social media saying that success comes by hardwork.

Speaking during the valedictory service and graduation ceremony of Albesta Academy, Lekki, Okebukola said; “Whatever you want to be in life, you must work towards it. Work in line with God’s plan for your life. If God has destined you to be a teacher, don’t struggle to become an engineer because you might not be your best in such field if you deviate from God’s plan. This school has done the best for you and this is time to be your best.

He, however, urged parents who are good at certain discipline to teach their children at home so that they can understand the subject better, especially in difficult subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English.

On his part, the Chairman, Albesta Academy, Lekki, Dr Albert Abe posited that only sound education and godly living can salvage our dwidling education sector.

He said; “What we are seeing presently in the lives of educated people is giving us a lot of concern because many do not have sound education that is coupled with godliness. We want to correct this. We want them to be sound academically to profit themselves, parents and our nation.

“Those that are graduating now have been nurtured to their full potentials. In the next five years, we are praying that beyond this branch, we want to have similar schools in other places so that more people can taste of the transformation going on in Albesta Academy as people are getting to know the values we uphold.
