Student Detained for Creating a Parody Account of Ex-President Jonathan Finally Released after 82 Days

A social media influencer and student of Ladoke Akintola University Olusola Babatunde, who was arrested for creating a parody account on twitter of former president Goodluck Jonathan has been freed after spending 82 days in detention.

The final year student's travails started after he was arrested by the Department for State security (DSS) for running a parody account in the name of the ex president.

His release was announced by media personality and Convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore via Twitter.

The student expressed disappointment at being arrested and locked up in a cell with a number of other people, and was at risk of getting infected with the corona virus despite being one of Goodluck Jonathan's biggest supporters.
