Love In Action Foundation by Pastor Steve Ogah is Excited to Announce an Essay Competition Titled "From Hashtags to Action: Gen Z's Blueprint for a Better Nigeria"
This essay competition seeks to inspire Nigeria's youth to move beyond online discussions and contribute actionable solutions for the nation's progress. Participants are challenged to go beyond simply identifying problems on social media and instead propose innovative and practical strategies for positive change in Nigeria. Essays should focus on key issues and offer creative solutions in areas such as energy, digital education, youth unemployment, and the economy.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all Nigerian students currently enrolled in government-owned universities and polytechnics at the undergraduate level across various faculties and departments. Essays can be submitted by students at any level.
Prize
A full undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to the winning essay.
Theme
Participants are invited to explore critical issues facing Nigeria and propose practical solutions. Essay topics may revolve around creative solutions in areas such as:
* Energy
* Digital education
* Youth unemployment
* The economy
Requirements for Submission
* Essays should be composed in English.
* Word limit: 1500 words.
* Essay timeline: September 2nd to October 2nd.
* Submission deadline: October 2nd.
Rules and Guidelines
* Submissions are open to individuals currently enrolled in a public Nigerian university or polytechnic.
* Essays must be typewritten and limited to 1500 words.
* The first page must include the author's name, email address, phone number, author's university's name, and essay title.
* No specific formatting rules (font style, size, line space, etc.) are prescribed. However, essays must be submitted in PDF format.
* The word count limit does not include the author's name, email address, phone number, author's university's name, and essay title.
* Submissions must be original and unpublished.
* Entries incorporating plagiarised content or generated by generative AI (such as ChatGPT) will be disqualified.
* Each essay submission must be the work of a single author, and co-authored submissions will not be accepted.
* By submitting an essay, the author grants the organizer permission to publish in any medium while retaining ownership of the essay.
