A senior secondary two (SS2) student of Anglican Commercial Secondary School, Orita-Mefa Ibadan, Oyo state has been suspended by the state government for slapping a serving corps member posted to the school.
The student identified as Ojo Roqeeb was suspended for one month with immediate effect by the state Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu- Raheem during a visit to the school.
The commissioner who condemned the assault said the suspension will serve as a warning to other students, adding that a letter of suspension should be given to the parents of the student. He warned that any student caught, acting in an uncivilized manner, will henceforth be dismissed from schools in Oyo State.
He also said the student, in return, must apologize to the corps member and sign an undertaking, not to repeat such an act.
