SS II student arrested for robbing his victim of N200 and other valuables

A 23-year-old SS II student of Demsawo Government Secondary School in Yola, Adamawa state, named Abubakar Mohammed, who was arrested for armed robbery and arraigned before Yola Magistrate Court I, pleaded guilty to the crime.

Mohammed was arrested after he allegedly attacked one Maryam Jamilu in her parlor at Wauru Jabbe in Yola South LGA in a broad daylight swinging a knife and threatening to kill her on the 11th February 2022. He reportedly robbed her of her mobile phone valued at N68, 000, another phone valued at N6000, and the sum of N200 cash.

He was arrested after he was sighted by Maryam who was seeing off her visitor after the said operation and raised an alarm.

Speaking to journalists, Mohammed claimed that he went into crime so as to raise money to pay his 1st and 2nd terms school fees, adding that his father is dead.
