Now in details, RSU’s Postgraduate form comes out every academic session and many of you just rush without waiting to confirm if you are eligible to apply or buy the form which is the reason most get stuck in the middle of the registration process.

Before applying for RSU’s Postgraduate form screening form you must meet the following requirements and eligibility criteria as listed below;

1. Complete O’level results
2. First Degree Certificate (B.Sc, M.A B.Edu, B.Engr or any HND certificate)
3. NYSC Discharge Certificate

O’Level Result

Candidates applying for a PG programme at RSU must meet the following basic admission requirements amongst others.

1. Must have 5 O’Level credits including mathematics and English language and 3 other subjects relevant to their course of study.

NYSC Discharge Certificate

To apply for a post graduate programme in RSU, an NYSC discharge certificate is a must have, for those without one, a certificate of exemption from your institution is acceptable by RSU. Candidates or applicants awaiting the completion of their NYSC programmes are not eligible to apply as they would not be considered for admission.

First Degree

For candidates from universities you must have possessed a first degree with a minimum of second class upper and above to apply for a Masters degree programme in any course that is relevant to the course offered in your first degree.

Candidates or applicants with 3rd class and below or HND in any course must first go through PGD (postgraduate Diploma) programme and after successfully completing the PGD programme becomes eligible to apply for a Masters degree programme in Rivers State University.

Admission Requirements:

1) Candidates for Master’s degree in the Institute of Education shall possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in the relevant field of study, or PGDE/PGDTE obtained from Rivers State University or any other recognized Institution of higher learning of equivalent

2) Candidates for Post graduate Diploma in Institute of Education shall possess first degree not less than a third class awarded by any recognized Institution/University.

3) Higher National Diploma (HND) not less than lower credit or its equivalent in any subject discipline or its equivalent in any Technical subject/disciple(for PGDTE only), awarded by any recognized institution

4) Candidates for Doctor of Philosophy Degree in the Institute of Education shall possess a Masters Degree relevant field of study, obtained from Rivers State University or any other recognized Institution of higher learning of equivalent

5) Candidates for PhD Full time/part time in Law and Diplomacy should possess any of the following:-

• Master of Laws Degree (LLM), or
• Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) or
• Master of Law and Diplomacy (MLD) or
• Master of International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) or
• Any other Advanced Masters Degree in Law or its equivalent that is awarded by recognized Faculties established in Nigerian Universities or Universities.

6) Candidates for Post Graduate Diploma in Political Science shall be Holders of at least a Third Class Degree in the subject area applied for or a Second Class (Lower Division) Degree in a related discipline obtained from the Rivers State University or any other recognized institution of equivalent status;

7) Candidate for Masters Degree in Political Science must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Degree in Political Science obtained from the Rivers State University or any other recognized institution of equivalent status;

8) Candidate with a PGD in Political Science and related field from a recognized institution with a CGPA of at least 3.50 on a five-point

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Applicant with the qualifications in the above disciplines shall be eligible for admission into the postgraduate programmes; however, candidates must fulfill the matriculation requirements of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt as stated below:-

How To Apply for RSU PG Admission Form (Full Time)

Step 1 – Applications for admission to any Sandwich Postgraduate programme shall be made on-line by logging onto www.ust.edu.ng and making e-payment of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) only, using inter-switch verve enabled cards.

Step 2 – Application forms should be completed on-line, downloaded and hard copies submitted to the secretary, Institute of Education, accompanied by photocopies of relevant credentials and proof of payment.

For PGDE Application Procedure

Step 1 – Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for admission into 2023/2024 Weekend Post Graduate Diploma in Education Programme in the Institute of Education, Rivers State University Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt.

Step 2 – Application for admission into the weekend PGDE Programmes shall be made online by logging onto www.rsu.edu.ng and making e-payment of N35,000.00. only, using interswich verve enabled cards.

PLEASE NOTE:

a) All application forms should be completed on-line, downloaded and hard copies of completed forms submitted to the Secretary, Postgraduate School, along with photocopies of relevant credentials.

b) Applications for admission to any postgraduate programme shall be made online by logging onto www.rsu.edu.ng and making an e-payment of Thirty thousand Naira (N30,000.00) for full-time Programmes or thirty-five thousand Naira (N35,000.00) for part-time Programmes, using interswitch verve – enabled cards. Application forms should be completed on-line, downloaded and hard copies submitted to the Secretary, Postgraduate School along with the following:
