Admission Requirements:
Candidates for Ph.D. shall possess a Master’s degree (with a CGPA of 3.50 or above, on a 5-point scale) in a relevant discipline obtained from the Rivers State University or any other recognized institution of higher learning of equivalent status. In addition, an applicant may be required to undergo a selection test and or interview.
Candidates for Master’s degree shall possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in the relevant field of study, or PGDE/PGDTE obtained from Rivers State University or any other recognized Institution of higher learning of equivalent status.
How To Apply RSU Sandwich Postgraduate Application Form
Step 1 – Applications for admission to any Sandwich Postgraduate programme shall be made on-line by logging onto www.ust.edu.ng and making e-payment of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) only, using inter-switch verve enabled cards.
Step 2 – Application forms should be completed on-line, downloaded and hard copies submitted to the secretary, Institute of Education, accompanied by photocopies of relevant credentials and proof of payment.
For PGDE Application Procedure
Step 1 – Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for admission into 2023/2024 Weekend Post Graduate Diploma in Education Programme in the Institute of Education, Rivers State University Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt.
Step 2 – Application for admission into the weekend PGDE Programmes shall be made online by logging onto www.rsu.edu.ng and making e-payment of N35,000.00. only, using interswich verve enabled cards.
PLEASE NOTE:
a) All application forms should be completed on-line, downloaded and hard copies of completed forms submitted to the Secretary, Postgraduate School, along with photocopies of relevant credentials.
b) Applications for admission to any postgraduate programme shall be made online by logging onto www.rsu.edu.ng and making an e-payment of Thirty thousand Naira (N30,000.00) for full-time Programmes or thirty-five thousand Naira (N35,000.00) for part-time Programmes, using interswitch verve – enabled cards. Application forms should be completed on-line, downloaded and hard copies submitted to the Secretary, Postgraduate School along with the following:
c) Photocopies of Certificates
d) Certified academic transcripts. (It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure that copies of their academic transcripts are forwarded under confidential cover directly to The Secretary, Postgraduate School, Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt).
e) Letter of reference from three referees, including one from a previous academic institution, stating that applicant is qualified to undertake advanced studies and research and that the Referee is confident that the applicant will benefit from the
f) For PhD applicants, brief research proposals on their intended areas of study should also accompany the application forms.

The closing date for the application is Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
