The Rivers State University has joined forces with security agencies and the institution's host community to combat cultism activities within the university campus.
The Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, on Monday, said the partnership between the host community in identifying criminals as well as the constant patrol of security agencies within and outside the campus have been yielding results.
He said, “As far as this university is concerned now, students are more comfortable having accommodation within the campus than outside because of the security and safety we have here.
“For those of our students that are living off-campus, we have made an arrangement with our host community, working with them to ensure that criminals are identified and tackled before they cause havoc.”
