There's been a religious outburst in Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa state. The ongoing war has been between Christians and Muslims of the institution. According to news, a student has been recorded dead and others injured as a result of the clash.
It was gathered that few week back, there were claims that a student made a blasphemous remark against prophet Muhammad, following this claims, a threat was posted on the school's Facebook page, putting up a warning that the school authority should take actions against the alleged claim of blasphemy or the Muslim students would take all necessary action to stop academic activities in the institution. This was ignored by the school authority.
Few weeks later the SUG election took place with a Christian, Haliru Amos emerging as the SUG president over the Muslim's candidate, Hamza, and this blew up the lingering issues. It was gathered that the Muslims had to launch an attack on the Christians during their fellowship.
Students have been on the run since Sunday, 4th February, when the clash started. As a result, the school has been shut down by the Management after an emergency meeting and all student have been asked to evacuate the school premises.
