The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, invites applications from suitably qualified
candidates, for admission into the under mentioned Full-time programmes in Higher National
Diploma (HND) and Certificate programmes for the 2021/2022 Academic Session (Note: That
National Diploma ND is through JAMB which will be followed by Post UTME screening in due
course).
PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE
A. Higher National Diploma (HND)
The following programmes are available at Higher National Diploma (HND) level.
i. Petroleum Engineering Technology (HND)
ii. Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology (HND)
iii. Industrial Safety and Environmental Technology (HND)
iv. (HND options: (1) Industrial Safety Technology
(2) Environmental Technology)
v. Petroleum and Gas Processing Engineering Technology (HND).
vi. Mechanical Engineering Technology (HND)
vii. (HND options: (1) Manufacturing,
(2) Power Plant).
viii. Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology (HND).
ix. (HND options: (1) Instrumentation and Control.
(2) Electrical and Telecommunications
(3) Power and Machines).
x. Science Laboratory Technology (HND).
xi. Petroleum Marketing Technology (HND).
B. CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES
The following Certificate programmes are available:
i. General Welding Certificate
ii. Commercial Diving Certificate (Classes I and II).
2.0 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
HND candidates are to possess Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit passes relevant to the
choice of programme which must include English Language and Mathematics, in addition to the National Diploma (ND) relevant to their choice of programmes. For details see on-line admission prospectus for 2021/2022 Academic Session.
3.0 COST OF ADMISSION FORM
Candidates applying for HND, General Welding and Commercial Diving Programmes are
required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand Naira Only (N10,000.00) for each
PTI admission form for 2021/2022 Academic Session.
4.0 PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION
Candidate offering HND, General Welding and Commercial Diving programme should
apply directly to Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) by following the steps below:
a. Visit www.pti.edu.ng
b. Click on “Apply for Admission”
c. Fill in the On-line “Sign on page” and Click on “Click Here to Sign Up” at the bottom
of the page. (Note: Write down the Username and Password for subsequent use).
d. This will take you to the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) page where you generate
the RRR code.
e. Print the RRR code page and take it to any bank for payment. Make sure you keep
the RRR print out.
f. After the payment of N10,000.00 which is the cost of each admission form, return to
the PTI website (www.pti.edu.ng) and click on “Return to my Application.”
g. Enter your Username and Password and click LOGIN.
h. Fill in the on-line application form and print out the completed on-line application
form which will be presented at the examination/interview centre along with your
RRR code.
REMARK:
If the portal rejects your USERNAME and PASSWORD in your attempt to login again
after payment, then mail [email protected] stating your RRR code.
5.0 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND)
National Diploma Candidates that have already applied through JAMB should watch
out for Post UTME Screening Advertisement coming out soon.
6.0 DATE FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR GENERAL WELDING CERTIFICATE
PROGRAMME.
The entrance examination for General Welding Certificate programme will hold at a date to be announced later at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State. Candidates are advised to report at Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State a day before the entrance examination to know their examination venue.
7.0 FOR HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) INTERVIEW
The interview for HND candidates will hold from 13th – 15th September, 2021 at the
Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State. The Transcripts of candidates offering HND programmes should reach the Admission Office from the Institute they graduated from, on or before 10th September, 2021. The Transcript should be sent through courier service. While coming for the interview, candidates should come
along with evidence or the receipt of transcript fee payment.
8.0 COMMERCIAL DIVING CERTIFICATE INTERVIEW
Diving Certificate interview will be held from 20th
– 22nd September, 2021 at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State.
9.0 PERIOD OF SALES
On-line sales commences on 16
th July, 2021 and closes on 27th August, 2021
10.0 LATE APPLICATION
Late on-line sales of HND, General Welding and Commercial Diving admission forms commences from 30th August, 2021 and ends on 17th September, 2021 at the cost of Fifteen Thousand Naira Only (N15,000.00) per form.
