ABSTRACT
This study on population increase and its problems in Nigeria is riper now in our country in this strategic time. It was discovered using the least square method of regression with the aid of SPSS statistical package, tested on Nigeria population and GDP covering thirty-seven years (1960-2016) that the impact of Nigeria’s high population is not totally negative on the economy. In addition, human capital showed no significant impact on economic growth. Attainable demographic policies and revitalization of human capital development were recommended to, not only boost economic productive activities but further enhance economic growth and development in Nigeria.
