A Professor at the Afe Babalola University, Prof. Chris Ohuruogu has called on the National University Commission and the Joint Action and Matriculation Board to ensure that private varsities do not admit more than their carrying capacities.
According to him, many of the private universities need more students to survive and depend on the tuition fees.
Consequently, they do not consider their facilities and the quality of their staff during admission and end up admitting more than they should.
He however called on the Federal Government to invest more on education to improve the standard of public varsities.
