There are very many private universities springing up from different parts of the country but only a few on the list below are the private universities in Nigeria offering law as a course.
Many especially the rich in Nigeria see private universities as an escape mechanism to escape the menace of going through rigorous processes in the quest for admission for their children, usually prospective students are given courses that are not their initial choices and are either left with no option to accept it or stand the risk of losing the slot to other prospective candidates.
Law as a course of study is generally seen as a noble profession with integrity at stake, there is this pride that goes along with every JAMBITO in the university upon admission, so usually the slot for most private universities in Nigeria offering law is made to accommodate a few.
There are some private universities in Nigeria that offers admission without the use of JAMB this a way of attracting more students into the institutions, though there are conditions to that effect, one of which is that upon graduation from the university, the student would have to produce his or her JAMB results.

There have been scenarios where NUC (Nigerian University Commission) approved certain courses and much later returned to dis-accredit the same course(s) previously accredited by them.
Please note that accreditation is not a permanent thing, certain standards must e maintained by the institution for certain courses to remain accredited, which includes the standard of lecture halls facilities, educational qualifications of the lecturers in that department and the likes.
I remember back in 2007 in the University of Benin where I schooled, NUC dis-accredited School of Dentistry, students, so students offering dentistry at that time in their final year were allowed to graduate while others were either taken to other faculties under Physical Sciences, and a few had to withdraw.
