President Buhari Orders NDDC to Pay Abandoned Scholarship Students Abroad

In a spate of controversies rocking the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), president Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the commission to pay all accrued fees and tuition of scholars under the commission scholarship scheme.

The announcement was made today August 4 2020, after the students staged another protest at the Nigeria High commission building in London. The students, who got a scholarship from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), cried out online and accused the NDDC of abandoning them, forcing them to take on menial jobs to survive.

The President conveyed the directive to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio  and asked that the students be paid what they were promised.
