Post-UTME Is Back: Schools Are Now Free To Conduct Exams For Admission Seekers – FG

The Federal Government has removed the ban on the conduct of Post-UTME examinations/ aptitude test usually organized by tertiary institutions for candidates seeking to gain admission into the schools.

This was made known by the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu in Abuja. According to him, universities, polytechnics and other institutions are now free to conduct Post-UTME examinations or aptitude test as a requirements for securing admission into the schools.

He further mentioned that the Federal Government last year scrapped post-UTME  which was controversial at the time to fully understand what was going on in institutions. He added that the Federal Government is now wiser concerning the conduct of the examination.

He however called on institutions to ensure the the post-UTME / aptitude test fees are affordable in order not to impose huge financial burdens on parents.

“The minister said: “We are going to allow universities to have some choice. Universities can now decide to organise post-UTME, if they want.

“We have asked them not to impose huge financial burden on the parents. The burden should not be more than what they can bear.”
