Some students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, on Friday embarked on a peaceful protest against the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics.
The News Agency of Nigeria gathered that the national secretariat of ASUP had ordered the institution’s chapter to re-join the strike.
The President of the Students Union Government of the polytechnic, Olaoro Folarin, said his colleagues were determined not to leave the campus until after the completion of the semester.
“We had already spent four months at home before the strike was suspended, we are not ready to go back home,” he said.
He urged the Federal Government to meet the demands of the lecturers.
