Poly Students Beaten By The Police Cry For Justice

The Students Union Government (SUG), of the Polytechnic of Ibadan, has cried out for justice over alleged police brutal beating of eleven students of the institution.

The students were reportedly arrested by the Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

The Oyo State Police had reportedly claimed that the students were not beaten and that they were the ones who were guilty of assaulting the police, breaching public peace and invading police headquarters.

The SUG, Comrade Oluwadamilola Peter Edema, stated that the police molested and assaulted them for simply calling for the release of their students who were unjustly arrested.

Edema stated that their request for the release of their colleagues made them to be brutally beaten and even locked up for one night.

Some of the students are still undergoing treatment at the hospital due to the brutal beating.
