Policeman Shoots Corps member, Driver During Argument

A Mobile police Force (PMF) personnel attached to Bayelsa Police Command has been arrested and taken into custody for suspicion of Discreditable Conduct and Unlawful Use of his Firearm.

The incident leading to his arrest happened on 6th January, 2020 when the police personnel attached to a leading commercial bank in Yenegoa had an altercation with a driver of a commercial bus over parking rights.
In the ensuing argument, the policeman allegedly pulled the trigger of his rifle injuring the driver and a corps member. This altercation allegedly left the Corps member dead, while the bus driver is in critical condition fighting for his life at the Federal Medical Centre.

The suspect was arrested on the orders of the state commissioner of police and is currently in detention at the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department.
