Police rescue 26 abducted Kaduna students, 150 others still missing

Yesterday, July 5, we reported the abduction of over 100 students of  Bethel Baptist Secondary School Kujuma in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State by armed bandits. The Kaduna state police command has now revealed that it has rescued 26 of the kidnapped students.

Recall that the bandits were said to have overpowered the school’s security guards and made their way into the students’ hostel where they abducted an unspecified number of students into the forest on July 5, 2021.

According to a statement credited to the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Muhammed Jalige, a joint team of the Nigeria Police, Army, and Navy Operatives were mobilized to the area with a mission to rescue the abducted students unhurt when the operatives got wind of the attack.

He added that the rescue operation is still ongoing to ensure all victims are safely returned.
