Police arrest hoodlums for extorting student of N150,000 school fees

The Ondo state police command has arrested two thugs identified as Sodeeq Adegoke, 24, and Abubakar Ajibola, 24, for robbing a student, Yusuf Joseph, of the sum of N150,000.

The suspects were paraded at the state police command on Monday, April 17, where Adegoke confessed to the crime. He explained that around 11 am, on Friday, April 14, 2023, they ambushed the student who was riding a motorcycle and led him to a deserted area inside the Government Reservation Area (GRA) in the state capital where he was forced to transfer the sum of N150,000 from his bank into Ajibola’s account number.

Ajibola on the other hand said he was not part of the attack but that his account was only used to receive the said sum. They further revealed that they have spent N85,000 of the money.

The victim, who disclosed that the money was his school fees, said he was attacked by the duo, and taken to a deserted area where they threatened to break his head if he did not transfer the money to them. The state police command says the suspects will be arraigned in court when investigations have been concluded.
