Police Arrest, Disperse Osun Polytechnic Students Protest:
Hundreds of Osun students were protesting the continued closure of their institutions of learning, due to an industrial action by the academic and non-academic staff of Nigerian polytechnics.
They are students from Osun State-owned polytechnic school, and the various state-run colleges of education.
The students, numbering over 200, marched down a busy road, and later converged at the Orita Ola-Iya junction, in Oshogbo. But, eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters they were dispersed shortly afterwards by a heavily armed police unit dressed in riot gear. The police stormed their gathering where several scuffles had broken out.
