Passion of the cross: Claretian student slumps and dies during drama presentation

Family and friends of a seminarian at the Cleratian Institute of Philosophy, Nekede, Imo State, have been thrown into mourning following the untimely demise of the student. The deceased identified as Sule Ambrose slumped and died on Friday, April 15, during a drama presentation.

It was gathered that Ambrose was performing the role of the biblical Peter in the Passion of Christ when the incident occurred.

A source present at the scene of the incident said

“He was playing the role of the biblical Peter in the dream and that process when Peter cut the ear of one of the soldiers and Jesus fixed the ear and ask Peter to let them do their wish. You know how passionate the play is.

Then it was at the point where he reproduced the words of Peter, "...Lord, today I'll die with you", he advanced a few steps and fell to the floor. We initially thought it was part of the drama but as soon as we saw he was bleading, we rushed him to the hospital.

He was unresponsive to treatment at the first hospital he was taken to and was then rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Owerri, where he was pronounced dead.

It was also reported that the deceased mother slumped and died on hearing the news of her son’s death.
