The Oyo State Universal Basic Education (UBE) Board has disclaimed social media claims that the board was currently hiring teachers.
The board, in a statement issued on Wednesday, April 19, by its chairman, Nureni Adeniran, described those behind the report as “undesirable elements” and advised the public to exercise caution and avoid doing business with the con artists posing as recruitment representatives for the UBE.
This comes after some fraudsters after collecting huge sums of money from unsuspecting victims with the promise to provide them employment, published a list of names and claimed those were the people that have been shortlisted for the OYOSUBEB job interview. On the list, the interview was scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, and Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at an unknown venue.
The statement noted that the management had started looking for those responsible for the fraudulent recruitment and vowed to turn them in if they were apprehended.
The board added that when it plans to expand its workforce and seek to recruit competent hands in the education sector, the public can be assured that it would follow appropriate channels and processes in doing so.
