The Oyo State Government has reinstated 129 public primary school teachers, who were unlawfully sacked by the previous administration.
The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Nureni Adeniran, made this known in a statement issued by his media aide, Olamide Adeniji, on Wednesday, July 27, in Ibadan.
According to the statement, the reinstated teachers were wrongly dismissed by the state government between 2011 and 2019, and their reinstatement is subject to an agreement that they would not demand arrears payment for the period they were away which the state converted to leave of absence.
Mr. Adeniran described the reinstatement as a ''plus'' and thanked governor Seyi Makinde for ending the untold economic hardship the families of the affected teachers may have been subjected to consequent of the illegal termination of their employment.
