Over 56,000 people apply for 4,701 Kwara teaching jobs

The Kwara state press Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Yakub Aliagan, released a statement on Thursday 11 February, stating that no fewer than 56,924 persons submitted applications for the ongoing teachers’ recruitment process in the state.

This comes after some aggrieved teachers who were sacked by the present administration on grounds that their employment by the past administration didn't follow due process, protested against the new recruitment exercise by the state government.

According to the statement, a total of 22,953 people applied for the Teaching Service Commission vacancies, while 33,971 applied for the State Universal Basic Education jobs, but the government only plans to recruit a total of 4,701 teachers for the two categories.

Applicants were advised to visit the portals to know their status of the recruitment as from Friday 12th February 2021, while the examination for applicants has been scheduled between Monday 22 February 2021 and Thursday 25 February 2021.

Those who succeed in the examination are to have their interviews between March 8 and March 20, 2021. Each applicant will get a text message to know the details of their examination and interview.
