Less than 24-hours after the arrival of president Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina state for a private visit, gunmen invaded government science secondary school, kankara local government, Katsina state, and kidnapped hundreds of students.
According to reports, the incident reportedly happened in the night of 11 December and an unconfirmed number of students were abducted from the school.
A missing person count is currently on going to ascertain the exact number of missing students.
This incident has renewed criticism for the Buhari-led administration, as people are wondering how kidnappers were emboldened to operate despite the presence of the president and all his security details in the state.
