In an interview with Saturday Beats, Ajibade said: “I still have an honest relationship together with her (Osas); it’s still good. We are still good, regardless.”
Also asked why he laid criticism her publicly on Instagram for allegedly abandoning their daughter to attend a celebration back in February, the actor said, “I didn’t ‘call her out’ (criticise her publicly); i was just using Instagram as a tool to save lots of things . But unfortunately, decisions were made and that i had to agree (with them).
“Do you think that I wouldn’t have tried other means? People will certainly say what they have to say, they’re going to never understand. I still have respect and love for her, regardless. If not for everything, but for the baby. A baby isn’t born to hold the burden of the daddy and mother.”
He, however, said he couldn’t share the teachings learnt from the ordeal.
“I cannot tell you what I even have learnt because the experience is personal. that’s why I said i’m grateful because the experience has helped me a great deal. it’s helped me to be a far better person. Regardless, i will be always be there for my daughter. I still have love and respect for her. She remains an honest woman. the fact that things didn’t compute well doesn’t mean we’ve in touch grudges and every one of that. we’ve gone beyond that.”
Ajibade, recently came back to Nigeria from the United States, said he missed Nigeria greatly.
He said, “I miss greatly all the craziness and also the freedom about his mother land, Nigeria. Apparently, you’ll just behave anyhow (you like) in Nigeria. I miss working in Nigeria, albeit i used to be also working within the US. I won’t say i actually miss the food because i do know the way to cook basically everything and that i cooked each day in Atlanta.
“I learnt how to cook from my mum because we (the children) were five boys and one girl. So since then my mum always recalled that being boys should not be an excuse for not knowing how to cook. She made us pound yam, and cut okra and vegetables. At that point , we felt it had been a punishment but i’m grateful for that now.”
