The Students Union is addressing the recent allegations of criminal activity against one of our students. We are deeply troubled by the severity of these accusations and want to unequivocally state that the actions of this individual do not represent the values, principles, and ethics of our esteemed institution.
We strongly disassociate ourselves, the Faculty of Arts, the Department of Philosophy, and the entire student body from the alleged behavior. We condemn any actions that violate the law and undermine the safety and well-being of our community.
The Union has confirmed that the individual in question has been apprehended and is being held at the Lagos Police Headquarters. We urge the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served. We also appeal to the public to avoid creating stereotypes that could negatively impact the welfare of our students or cause division within the Nigerian student community.
We extend our condolences to the family, friends, and acquaintances of the deceased. We stand in solidarity with the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) and all affected parties during this challenging time.
Our Union remains committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students.
