The Executive Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi has assured the School Managers that ongoing projects in the Public Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across the State would be completed soon.
The Executive Chairman disclosed this during his Second-day familiarization visits to some Schools in Ogun East Senatorial district. He declared that present administration led by Governor Dapo Abiodun MFR has put everything in place for all the Contractors to complete the projects on time. He stressed that providing a conducive learning environment and improved learning standard in schools are the top priority of this administration.
Dr. Majekodunmi also used the opportunity to go around the school environment to assess the level of teaching activities and to test the reading ability of some learners.
At St. Michael’s Anglican Primary School, I, Ibiade, Ogun Waterside Local Government, Master, Goodluck Godpower, a primary four learner, read fluently and answered all questions being asked by the Executive Chairman. The Board Members, however, selected some improperly dressed learners and pledged to get the new uniform.
The SUBEB Boss observed that the major need of the schools visited were lack of Modern Toilet and Portable Water, he admonished them to key into Federal Government Scheme tagged School-Based Management Committee - School Improvement Programme (SBMC-SIP) which would assist them for the provision of Modern Toilet and other rehabilitation projects.
Meanwhile, at Muslim Primary School II, Eti Itale, Ijebu Ode, a primary six learner, Odukoya Darasimi, appreciated the State Government for the provision of infrastructural facilities in the school and thanked the Executive Chairman for finding time out of his tight schedule to visit the School.
School visited on the Second day were, Iwopin Pulp and Paper Company Primary School, Iwopin, and St. Michael’s Anglican Primary School I and II, Ibiade in Ogun Waterside Local Government, Emmanuel Primary School I and II, Ita-Lupe, Ijebu Ode and Muslim Primary School I and II Eti Itale, Ijebu Ode.
Executive Chairman, also made a visit to Ijebu Ode Local Government Education Authority Office. He moved around the offices to see things for himself and pledged an uplift of the office Structures
On the team with Executive Chairman were Permanent Member I, Barr. Femi Odufowokan Permanent Member II, Hon. Isiaka Aderounmu, and Permanent Member III, Hon. Femi Ilori Oduntan. Others include the Board Secretary, Mr. Wasiu Olalekan Kuye, Directors and other Members of Staff of Ogun SUBEB.
